Synopsis
Seven brown-skinned girls step into their light, reclaiming space in an industry—and a world—that once told them they were too much, too loud, too dark. They respond with one monologue, one memory, and one fearless truth at a time.
Equal parts funny, fierce, and heart-wrenching, this stage play explores the inner lives of brown-skinned girls as they navigate beauty standards, stereotypes, and the burden of being brilliant in a world that doesn’t always see them. This isn’t a story about Black girl pain. It’s a story about Black girl power.

Dr. Kinnik Sky is an award-winning writer, producer, director, actress, and acclaimed acting coach. Through her company, Kinnik Sky Entertainment, her stage productions have received 11 NAACP Theatre Award nominations and 7 wins, including her personal win for Best Actress and a nomination for Best Playwright. She has also served as a trusted on-set acting coach for Disney and ABC and trains the next generation of rising talent through Stars & Sky Private Acting Coaching. Carving out a powerful presence as a filmmaker, her latest project, the series IntelliGent, has received major festival recognition, while her presentation of her original production Brown Girls Rising has captivated the industry and its audiences with its emotional depth and exceptional performances.

She co-starred in the award-winning pilot IntelliGent, and has recently finished a short film in which she was executive producer and starred in. She is currently filming another highly anticipated pilot titled The Zara Project. Harper Bree continues to amaze audiences and show her range as an outstanding young actress.

Nia Johnson is an award-winning actress celebrated for Finding Fish and Brownies—an Oscar-qualifying short executive-produced by Spike Lee that won Best Breakthrough Cast in Diversity in Cannes. With standout performances in Paradise Lost—playing the younger Danielle Deadwyler—and IntelliGent. Nia showcases remarkable depth and versatility, solidifying her place as a powerhouse in today’s entertainment landscape.
At just 11 years old, Cali Wafer is already known for her vibrant energy, natural confidence, and undeniable stage presence. Cali loves bringing characters to life and thrives in front of the camera, combining her fearless spirit with a genuine love for storytelling. Cali’s dedication, versatility, and unforgettable spark make her a young talent to watch!
Rianna Michel
Rianna, 18, is a dynamic actress with 7 years of stage and on-camera training and over a decade of dance experience. She brings emotional depth, strong physicality, and versatility to every role. Her standout performances in Brown Girls Rising, Escape Room, and Case Files showcase her bold work ethic and rising talent.
Reign Selah Webb
Reign Selah Webb - actor, dancer, model, and singer. Performance has landed her in short and feature length films, on stages at the National Black Theater Festival, New York Fashion Week, and being crowned in multiple pageants. Reign has trained around the country becoming a triple threat. She aspires to be a Broadway and
TV/Film star.
Blake Aria Hendricks
Blake Aria Hendricks is an American actress and model, best recognized for her role as Mia in The Best Man: The Final Chapters (2022). With a passion for performance and beauty, she’s appeared in global print campaigns and national commercials, while also pursuing makeup artistry as part of her creative expression.
Cali Woods
Cali is a creative, curious, and brave kid. She lights up any room with her big personality and loves a good challenge. Acting since age 6, she enjoys being on set and thinking outside the box. Her hobbies include tumbling, skating, drawing, and crocheting.
